The Difference Between Omni Hop Profiles & Quantum Hop Extracts

Discover the unique features of Omni and Quantum so you can get started brewing your best beverage yet.

When we say our optimized hop extracts are a brewing game changer, we’re not exaggerating. We spent years listening to brewers and industry experts to understand what features mattered most. That’s how we developed the Quantum Series and our Omni Hop Profiles.

These collections resolve common brewing issues, provide forward-thinking solutions, and more. Plus, compared to whole hops, pellets, and even other hop extracts, the advantages are clear:

  • No yield loss from absorption
  • 100% utilization rate
  • Zero undesirable plant compounds
  • Doesn’t stick to the tank
  • Zero bittering acids
  • Logistical cost savings
  • Requires no carriers
  • Can be used at room temperature
  • No “hop creep”
  • No solid waste removal
  • And MORE

We’re immensely proud of these shared features, but the differences between Omni Hop Profiles and Quantum Hop Extracts are just as mind-blowing.

So… which one is right for you? Learn the differences between these collections and decide for yourself which is right for your beverages.

Omni Hop Profiles & Quantum Hop Extracts | Sourcing, Supply, and Flavor & Aroma

Let’s get right to it. The three biggest differences between Omni Hop Profiles and the Quantum Series are sourcing, supply, and flavor and aroma. The important thing to note, however, is that one collection isn’t necessarily better than the other in any of these categories. They each offer unique benefits, so brewers can choose the products that fit their values, formulation needs, or simply their preferences.

The Quantum Series starts with hops… and only hops. Using whole hops and pellets, we perform the highest quality extractions in the industry, so you’re JUST getting vibrant flavor and aroma without any undesirable compounds. That means we aren’t formulating anything in our labs. Instead, we’re squeezing every last drop of flavor and aroma out of the hops for the truest version of varietal-specific hops.

That also means the Quantum Series is in limited supply. Whole hops and pellets are subject to harvest variabilities which places limitations on the quantity and availability of Quantum extracts. So, if you love a particular Quantum extract, you had better act fast.

Omni, on the other hand, doesn’t have supply issues. Bonus? It will NEVER have supply issues. While Quantum is solely derived from hops, Omni Hop Profiles are sourced from sustainable botanicals. Specifically, Omni is sourced from terpenes extracted from a variety of botanical sources, including hop oils that are a byproduct of hop extractions.

This byproduct is created after CO2 hop extractions. Typically, it's discarded or becomes fertilizer, which is a real shame. CO2 extractions aren’t able to extract all of the flavor and aroma from hops, so valuable compounds are being thrown away. Fortunately, we have the equipment and expertise to find gold in the garbage, which is how we’re able to upcycle this byproduct, extract those missed compounds, and transform them into something pristine and aromatic.

With this as the foundation, we then layer in terpenes and other compounds to formulate, replicate, and standardize the flavor and aroma of hops. So, why is that important? We’re so glad you asked.

Omni Hop Profiles are a true living record of specific hop samples that can be recreated forever. Not only are these sustainably sourced, but things like seasonal flavor drift or industry shortages won’t impact our ability to recreate these profiles.

Optimized Hop Extracts | The Quantum Series Advantage

Like we mentioned earlier, the Quantum Series is hop-derived, varietal-specific, and not an averaging of other oils. It’s only comparable to other advanced hop products in that they’re both derived from hops. Other than that, Quantum outperforms other hop extracts in every way. It tastes better, performs better, and it’s easier to use.

CEN Quantum Series | Best Quantum Series for Sale | Abstrax Hops

Using ultra-low temp extraction technology, we’ve created these extracts to deliver the finest aromatics that authentically reflect hops in a way that no other hop extractions can. Essentially, the Quantum Series makes it easier than ever to infuse beverages with varietal-specific flavors and aromas.

Want that robust blend of funky grapefruit from Mosaic®? Just add MOS Quantum to your brite tank. That’s it! Do your customers crave those hints of pine and cedar from Centennial? CEN Quantum will provide the aromatics you’re looking for.

Optimized Hop Extracts | The Omni Hop Profile Advantage

When we say a lot of work went into creating Omni Hop Profiles, we mean it. In order to develop a true living record of specific hop samples, we chemically map and clone the aromatic profiles of hop profiles. That’s how we’re able to consistently recreate the smell of any hop from any place at any time.

Want to brew with the best Nelson Sauvin®? NSNX459 Omni will add those sophisticated white wine notes to your next beer. Want to capture the flavor of your favorite hop even when it’s experiencing a shortage? With Omni, that’s not a problem.

There will be no more seasonal flavor drift, supply inconsistencies, or worrying that climate change is going to wipe out your favorite hop. When you brew with Omni, it’s just the consistent flavor and aroma of your preferred hop year after year.

We can even create customizable Omni Hop Profiles that allow you to skip the multiyear breeding programs. Follow your palate and frankenhop something that’s entirely unique. Maybe you want a Chinook with more powerful floral notes or a spicier Willamette. With Omni, you’re in the driver's seat.
